Nonnanest is a baby-tech company built around a single product: SightAware, a $329 nursery monitor that adds contactless temperature awareness to the usual video and audio. Its infrared camera reads your baby's surface skin temperature from up to four feet away, so you can tell whether your little one is running warm without clipping a wearable to a sock or onesie. Room temperature shows on the same screen, and you set an alert a couple of degrees above your baby's normal reading.
What sets it apart is what it leaves out. SightAware runs entirely offline: the camera pairs directly with a dedicated 5-inch handheld display, with no WiFi, no cloud account, no phone app and no subscription. That means no monthly fee, no footage of your nursery sitting on someone else's server, and a monitor that keeps working when the internet does not. Video, two-way audio, night vision, lullabies and room-climate tracking are all included in the one-time price.
The company was started by founder Nathan Overbey after his six-month-old woke up warm one night and his monitor could only report the room temperature. SightAware is positioned as a wellness device rather than a medical one, so it is about comfort and peace of mind, not diagnosis. It ships free in the continental US with a 30-day return window and a one-year warranty, and it has been named a 2026 NAPPA award winner. Cubbie Club members get 15% off a first order.

Nonnanest FAQ
- What is Nonnanest SightAware?
- SightAware is an offline baby monitor made by Nonnanest. Alongside HD video and two-way audio, its infrared camera reads your baby's surface skin temperature from up to four feet away and shows it next to the room temperature, so you can tell at a glance whether your little one is getting too warm. It is a one-time $329 purchase.
- Does my baby have to wear anything?
- No. SightAware is contactless, so nothing is clipped, taped or worn on the baby. The camera reads skin temperature from across the crib, up to about four feet away. Nonnanest's pediatric guidance is to keep the camera at least three feet from the baby.
- Does SightAware need WiFi, a phone or a subscription?
- No. The camera pairs directly with the included 5-inch handheld display, so it works with no WiFi, no internet, no cloud account, no app and no subscription. There is one upfront price and no recurring fees, and the monitor keeps working even if your internet goes down.
- How accurate is the temperature reading, and is it a medical device?
- Nonnanest says its own testing shows readings within about 1.1°F under its stated conditions, with the camera three to four feet above the crib. SightAware is a wellness device, not a medical device, and skin temperature runs cooler than an internal thermometer reading, so it is meant to flag a change rather than replace a thermometer. If a reading looks high, check on your baby and contact your pediatrician if you are concerned.
- How much does SightAware cost and what comes in the box?
- SightAware is $329, a one-time purchase with no subscription, and ships free in the continental US. The box includes the infrared camera, the 5-inch handheld display, wall, flex-arm and crib mounts, a charging cradle and cables, and a quick start guide. Setup takes about five minutes.
- Is there a Nonnanest discount through Cubbie Club?
- Yes. Cubbie Club members get 15% off a first SightAware order at nonnanest.com. New customers only.
