UPPAbaby's Kona is finally a stroller you can buy

The trunk is open, the baby is awake, and the car behind you has started to drift forward. You have one hand. UPPAbaby has been promising a stroller for that exact minute since May, when it showed the Kona at ABC Kids Expo and said Fall 2026 and nothing else. As of this week the Kona is on uppababy.com at $649.99, in four fashions, in stock.

What the Kona actually is

UPPAbaby calls it a mid-size stroller, built to sit between a small fold and a full-size ride. Its own site files it under full-size, which tells you which half of that promise the brand is more confident about. It is ready from birth on a lay-flat recline, rated to 50 pounds and 40 inches, and weighs 22 pounds with the toddler seat on or 14.1 pounds as a bare frame. Unfolded it is 33.6 inches long and 21 inches wide, which is the number that decides whether it fits through your front door without a three-point turn.

The fold

One hand, in either seat direction. Forward-facing or parent-facing, it collapses the same way, and that is the part that matters when your other arm is full of toddler. Folded with the seat still attached it is 13.4 inches deep, 21 inches wide and 25.8 inches tall. The basket takes 30 pounds. There is suspension, never-flat tires, a front wheel lock for gravel, and a brake you can work in flip-flops.

Birth to preschool without adapters

UPPAbaby infant car seats and the bassinet attach directly to the frame, no adapters, which is the quiet forty dollars this category usually takes off you at checkout. The harness closes with magnetic buckles. The canopy is UPF 50+ with a peek-a-boo window and a vent, and it gets taller as the child does. Who should buy it

If you are registering now and you want one stroller from the hospital to preschool without buying a single adapter, put this on the list. If you already own a full-size UPPAbaby you like, the Kona is a smaller fold, not a better stroller, and your trunk has made its peace. And if what you actually need is the thing that lives folded in the car for airports, this is not small enough to be that. Buy it for the fold, or do not buy it.
