Copper Pearl put Disney on both sides of the comforter

The crib comes apart on a Saturday morning. By that night there’s a twin mattress in the same corner, a kid who thinks this is the greatest thing that has ever happened to anyone, and a comforter that looks like it came from a chain hotel, because the print they fell asleep under for three years was only ever made in crib size. Copper Pearl fixed that on September 9, and then did something better: it put a second Disney print on the back.

That is Copper Pearl’s own line for the launch, and it is the whole story. Nine Premium Twin Cloud Comforters, $135 each, all reversible, all with two prints. Grogu on the front flips to a gray-blue print of Mandalorian helmets and frogs. Cars flips to a red-trimmed print of Lightning McQueen’s 95 and lightning bolts. Tatooine, the sketchy Star Wars line art, flips to the Death Star and TIE fighters on blue. Hundred Acre Wood flips to blue gingham. Mickey Mouse and Friends flips to Mickey heads on navy. Monsters, Inc., Stitch Dreamsicles, Disney Princess and Minnie’s Bowquet round out the nine, each with a quieter second print on the back. Make the bed with the character side up for the kid. Flip it when the grandparents visit.

The comforter itself

It’s 68 inches wide and 92 long, which on a 39-inch twin mattress hangs well past both sides, the part that matters at 2 a.m. when a kid has rotated ninety degrees and taken the blanket with them. The fill is the same plush stuff Copper Pearl uses in its sleep bags, and the shell is its Signature Jersey knit, the stretchy fabric the crib sheets are made of. Each print also comes as a Premium Twin Sheet Set at $90: fitted sheet, flat sheet and one standard pillowcase. Copper Pearl’s plain twin sheet set is $85, so the Disney version is five dollars more.

The one we’d buy

If you can only buy one piece, buy the comforter. Sheets spend the day under it, and the comforter is the thing you see from the doorway every time you walk past for the next five years, which is why the second print matters more than it sounds. Hundred Acre Wood is the one we’d still want to look at in 2031, and its gingham back is the best of the flips. If your kid holds the deciding vote, it’s going to be Stitch, and you’ll survive. Skip the whole thing if you’re still in a crib: the same prints have been on crib sheets for a while, and the reversible trick is twin only.
